For some strange reason, most companies who offer funeral plans split the market into the over 50 or under 50 bracket. We don’t, but as many clients come to us expecting to see these options, we do have to mention it on the Money-Mate website.

Whether you’re over 50 or under 50 you’ll still receive the exact same rewards and benefits from Money-Mate funeral plans. You’ll receive the same level of care, high quality funeral and attention to detail we’re renowned for

A funeral plan is very personal and differs from person to person. The details of a plan are bespoke to the individual.

The funeral plans offered through Money-Mate give clients peace of mind that should the worst happen, their funeral expenses are paid for. Clients can pay in one lump sum or spread the cost over the course of many months or years, to make the price more affordable.

If you should pass away, your family and friends will not have to struggle finding the money for your funeral. In addition to this, you can plan the funeral you’d love to have, so you say a true, personalized goodbye to those you love. The money you pay towards a funeral plan is held very securely in a trust fund until the time is right.

Although our funeral plans are excellent value for money you don’t have to worry too much about the prices as we offer a range of payment options. This means, you could afford a bigger funeral with extra expenses if you spread the cost. Please be assured that whatever your choice, a Money-Mate Funeral Plan is always of the highest quality. This applies whether you choose our most affordable funeral plan or a funeral plan with plenty of extras.

Our plans start at just £2,075 which is actually lower than the average cost of a basic funeral in today’s market. You can choose from a 12 or 24 month interest free payment option or you can spread the cost further over the course of 2, 5 or 10 years.

Monthly Installment Funeral Plans

A minimum deposit of £250 is needed to secure your funeral plan, then you can opt to pay via monthly installments. You have a range of choices from our 1 or 2 year interest free payments to spreading the cost over 5 to 10 years. We’ll work with you to ensure you choose the plan suited to your wishes and budget.

What Should I Do When a Loved One Dies?

If someone you love dies, your thoughts will not immediately be on the funeral. There will be an enormous amount of grief to cope with along with a never ending sense of loss.

If the death occurred at home, you will need to call your GP or the hospital to move your loved one o a more appropriate setting and to lay your loved one to rest, for a short time, in a mortuary.

If your loved one died in the hospital the staff will take care of this, and the body will be prepared for the hospital mortuary.

When you are ready to organize the funeral (is anyone ever really ready?) your thoughts may turn to the funeral plan your loved one set in place.

How Do I Access a Love One’s Funeral Plan?

To access a funeral plan you need to report a bereavement by calling the Funeral Plans number on 08009177099. If the plan is paid, we will then take the necessary steps, as wished for by the deceased, to make the funeral planning as stress less as possible for you so you can concentrate on your family and friends, along with yourself. We will appoint a local, reputable funeral director who will take your loved one to their chapel of rest and will discuss the funeral with you, along with the wishes of the deceased.

If the plan hasn’t been paid for in full, we will ask for the balance and then continue with the normal steps. Anything that your loved one paid in will count towards the cost of the funeral and your loved one will have locked in the price at the time of purchase, so you know you’re receiving the best value for money (we realize this may not be a priority at this time).

We always welcome enquiries from our clients but to save you time we’ve put together some of the most popular questions asked to save you some time.

What are 3rd Party Fees / Disbursements?

The 3rd party disbursements are the parts of the funeral fees that the funeral director pays to third parties.

These include costs such as cremation, doctor’s fees, minister/ priest fees, and church fees.

All of our plans, except Topaz, allow £1200 for these fees. This rises annually, so there may be a balance to pay when you pass away. This is only if the fees in accordance with the RPI exceed the £1200 set aside at that time.

What Does My Funeral Plan Include?

Your funeral plan includes all your funeral director needs to organize a high quality funeral with no cost to your family. The five options vary, due to extras and additions, but except for cremation, our plans all include, as a minimum:

A Hearse
A lined and Fitted Coffin
24 Transfer of the Deceased
Care and Preparation of Your Loved One
Funeral Directors Fees.

The Topaz and Direct Cremation as an exception, all our plans include a generous allowance of £1200 for 3rd party disbursements such as the cost of the church, cremation, priest or minister.

What Do Funeral Director Fees Cover?

The funeral director fees cover the cost of the hearse, the car of your loved one, the limousines, all of the fees your funeral director covers when you choose them for your funeral.

If the Plan Doesn’t Include 3rd Party Fees Can I Pay Later?

We have lots of flexible options to make it easier for you. Our Topaz plan doesn’t include 3rd party disbursements, so you can play for these at a later date, or your family can when organizing your funeral.

Is a burial more expensive?

A burial costs more than a cremation, although the funeral directors fees don’t differ between the two. We can only deliver a price on burial when we know the location in which you wish to be buried as the costs vary according to church, and local councils and authorities.

I Want to Choose My Own Funeral Director

You can choose whomever you wish to take care of your funeral as long as the funeral director is a member of the National Federation of Funeral Directors. In the unlikely event your chosen funeral director isn’t available when you pass away, we will appoint the next on your list or the most reputable funeral director in your local area.

Can I Change My Funeral Plan?

It’s tailor made to you, so of course you can.

Do You Have an Eco Friendly Funeral Plan Option?

Please contact us to discuss your requirements in this instance, as prices do vary on this trend.

Can I Buy a Funeral Plan for Someone Else?

You can buy a funeral plan on another person’s behalf, all you need to do is make us aware of this when choosing your plan online.

How Do I Cancel My Funeral Plan?

You can cancel within 28 and receive a full refund. After this a fee will be applied. Please cancel in writing by submitting a cancellation notice to: Funeral Plans (Cancellation Dept),8 Peterson Road, Wakefield, West Yorkshire WF1 4EB.

What Happens if I Die Abroad?

The cost of transferring your body is not included in the funeral plan unfortunately. You can add this if you will be spending a significant amount of time abroad and think it could be worth it. Please contact us to discuss it more.

Do I Need a Medical for a Funeral Plan?

No. Everyone is accepted over 18years old. There are no criteria, medical or otherwise.

Are There Funeral Plan Hidden Charges?

No.
